DFD is an important concept related to software design in software engineering field.

DFD diagram is also known as bubble chart.

 

Full form of DFD is Data Flow Diagrams

Full form of SRS is Software Requirements Specification. Term is used below.

The requirement gathered by the analysts during software requirement gathering and specification is documented properly in form of SRS document

During structured analysis phase, the SRS document is transformed into DFD or Data Flow Diagram.

 

What is DFD?

DFD is a graphic model prepared during structured analysis phase based on the requirements captured in SRS document during software gathering phase.

Preparation of DFD helps to represent the system requirement in terms of input data fed to the system, different operations carried out based on the input, and the final output that will be produced.  

 

DFD is simple and easy to understand as well as use.

To design DFD diagram in software engineering we need to use few symbols.
