AND Gate


AND operator may take two or more inputs and one output. It produces 1 only when the all input values are 1.

Important points on AND operation

  • AND Operator performs logical multiplication operation of boolean algebra.
  • The symbol used for AND operation is . (dot)
  • For example, A.B implies A AND B operation

AND operation rules 

0.0 = 0

0.1 = 0

1.0 = 0

1.1 = 1

 

Thus we see output will be 1 only when all the input's are 1.

 

0 represents false

1 represents true

Truth Table of AND Gate

Truth table shown below is for two inputs.

It will have 2^n rows, where n is number of inputs.

Number of rows in truth table: 2^2 = 4
