Difference between low level and high level language


In this article, we are going to study about the major differences between high level language and low level language in computer.

High level language

Low level language are written using binary codes and are in computer understandable format

High level language are generally written in English like instructions and are easily understandable to humans.

Low level language programs are mostly machine dependent. It means that one program written for a particular machine using low level language cannot run on another machine.

High level language are machine independent

Debugging* a low level program is complicated than high level.

Debugging a high level program can be done easily.

Developing application program in low level language is difficult.

Developing application program in low level language is easier in comparision to low level.
